Cold-weather clothing

Now that temperatures have dropped slightly, we’re readying our winter wardrobes for wear.  Two toasty additions have made their way into snowgrrl’s closet:  the BT1 Base Layer top from Bambool Thermics, and the pink Women’s Quilted Vest from RefrigiWear.  The Bambool Thermics long-sleeved half-zip pullover top has gotten a few trial runs on chilly mornings, and snowgrrl looks forward to more extensive testing on the slopes this winter. Bambool™ is a unique fabric blend made of bamboo, merino wool, and elastane.  It is incredibly soft, moisture wicking, insulating, and most importantly it is sourced from renewable fibers helping to reduce the impact we have on our planet’s limited resources.  We love that this line is designed in Colorado, and made in the USA.  The half-zip top features a zipper cage; thumbholes; armpit gussets; flat-lock seams; and heat-transfer tags, all designed with the outdoor enthusiast’s comfort in mind.

Next up, the vest from RefrigiWear makes for an excellent lightweight layering options.  RefrigiWear offers tough, comfortable, warm clothing that’s a great value for anyone who wants a first-class product at an affordable price.  Historically worn by and geared towards industrial workers who need insulated clothing, accessories, and personal protective equipment for use in subzero temperatures, inclement weather, and low-visibility environments, RefrigiWear’s offerings this season also appeal to a wider audience!  Any “Ice Princess” knows that it’s just as important to stay warm, as it is too look cute, and RefrigiWear’s quilted women’s vest ($60.00) and bomber-style Vertical Puffer Jacket ($80.00) certainly do the trick at affordable prices.  We look forward to wearing these items more extensively this winter and determining whether they are appropriate “Mountain Armor” pieces that can withstand a beating on the mountain.

All of us snowgrrls want to keep in touch with friends on and off the mountain.  Urban Armor Gear sent us this awesome, durable iPhone 5s cover, but it lacks a credit card slot, so we’re sticking to our current loop cover.  One lucky reader will win the UAG phone cover!  It even withstood a test where they threw it out of a speeding BMW. . . . when they retrieved the UAG-covered phone, it was in one piece and worked fine!  Just email us at info at snowgrrl dot com with your info and we will choose a winner in the next few weeks!  🙂
