The holy grail of activewear for the modern woman is an item that she feels and looks great in when she wears it in the city, on the slopes, and après-ski. We believe NILS has produced the holy grail via its Mariska jacket from the 2015-2016 line. The Mariska jacket made its debut at SIA’s SnowShow in January, and it’s sure to be a hit next winter. Though it has not yet made its way to the mountains, this jacket has been tested extensively in temperatures fluctuating between 5 and 40 degrees Farenheit in Denver, Colorado, and has kept this snowgrrl sleek, warm and comfortable. We believe it’s fully suitable for an Ice Princess!

Snowgrrl tried the jacket in Pewter, a luminescent, shimmery grey/silver color. The jacket evoked comments from friends in the neighborhood about how it looked so galactic and beautiful. The jacket is composed of four-way stretch fabric with 6% spandex and a stretch satin lining, making the stretch and feel very luxurious. The waterproof/breathable rating is 10,000mm/10,000g and the insulation is an 80/20 Goose Down which makes this jacket super functional and warm. A plethora of streamlined zippered pockets inside and outside the jacket, as well as two interior mesh pockets, allow for plenty of room to hold your phone, ski pass, cash, a snack and lipstick. Another feature that makes the Mariska jacket stand out, and which is much appreciated, is the stretchy cuff lining. This creates a barrier between our delicate skin and the piercing cold air. It seems like NILS put a lot of thought into creating this jacket. Because of the icy cool color, slightly longer body length, and superior warmth and styling, it can easily transition between the mountains, city streets, and Ajax Tavern (or your preferred après-ski destination). The NILS Mariska jacket is perfect armor for an Ice Princess.
