As an exceptionally tall woman (yes, 35″ inseam!), this snowgrrl has seldom found ski pants that are both flattering and long enough. Snowboarding pants sometimes work, but are generally pretty baggy, not form-fitting. To date, the ONLY pants that worked were Athleta’s “Maribel” pant (whose sizing is odd — read the reviews) and a pair by Obermeyer which is not even made any more. Once again, NILS has swooped in and come to the rescue!
NILS makes long ski pants with a 33 1/2″ inseam, and even offers a few that are available in that same long inseam but also offer an “adjustable hem” feature. The adjustable hem allows you to let it out an extra 1 1/2 inches if needed at home too! It is a finished seam so all you need is a seam ripper and viola, you are a tailor! 😉
Snowgrrl was thrilled to receive the NILS Melissa pant last week. The weather in Colorado has been extremely warm (and thus the snow slushy), so these haven’t been tested yet, but these fit great and the seam (pictured) looks super-easy to extend. These will definitely be put to use on the next powder day!
In compliance with FTC Endorsement Guidelines 16 C.F.R. Part 255, we make this disclosure of material connection: Snowgrrl.com received the Melissa pantsat no charge from NILS in consideration for review publication.
