For the eighth year, snow sports aficionados can check out the latest Warren Miller film while helping victims of domestic violence and their children. Tickets are now available for Safehouse Denver’s Eighth Annual Warren Miller Film Screening on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Stoney’s Bar & Grill (1111 Lincoln Street, Denver, Colorado 80203).
The venue will host an intimate screening of Warren Miller’s 65th film – No Turning Back. 100% of proceeds benefit SafeHouse Denver. The newest addition to the Warren Miller library celebrates the 65 years of mountain culture and adventure filmmaking that has led Warren Miller to every end of the winter world. No Turning Back features athletes Ingrid Backstrom, Seth Wescott, Sierra Quitiquit, Rob Kingwill, Oystein Aasheim and others pushing the boundaries in Niseko, Japan, the Swiss Alps, Montana, France and other stunning snow sports meccas.
Watching the film, set to heart-pounding music and narrated with a tongue-in-cheeck attitude, is sure to make skiiers and snowboarders (or those aspiring to become so) pray for storms and seek mountain thrills. The sheer delight of playing in the snow, accomplishing challenging feats (punctuated by occasional slips and spills) is reflected so clearly and contagiously in this film.
Producer Josh Haskins says “at the end of the day, all we need are some steep slopes and some snow to cover them.” No Turning Back continues the tradition, from the top of the world’s highest peaks to the mom-and-pop hills that define skiing and riding and back again. Warren Miller and SafeHouse Denver invite snow fans to celebrate winter, and remember this year there’s No Turning Back.
