Sometimes we just snowgrrls just want to feel safe and secure, like that feeling when you’re relaxing on a private beach sipping a mai tai out of a freshly cut coconut (side note: coconuts are really, really hard to pierce, and may break your knife/juicer/whatever apparatus with which you try) with your man and the security guards hovering some place in the distance to ensure the paparazzi don’t get to you. . . ok, maybe this snowgrrl has never experienced such a scenario, but one can dream!
Sunscreen belongs in the pocket of every active woman who wants to protect her skin. The sun’s rays are stronger at higher altitudes, and the glare of fresh snow from the slopes can magnify the damaging effect.
We met up with the folks from Sun Bum at SIA and tried out SPF 30 moisturizing sunscreen on the slopes. The product is made with Parasol 1789, which offers full spectrum UVA protection and is found in some fancy European products. Applying the product is somewhat reminiscent of that day of the beach – it goes on smoothy and has a very light and appealing scent. More importantly, it didn’t cause breakouts, and at the end of the day snowgrrl’s skin was still pasty white, which means the protection lasted all day (after re-applying at lunch of course). This is going to be another cosmetic bag staple.
