With the winter blah’s a thing of the past and the pressure of Valentine’s Day behind us, bluebird days on the mountain await. To compliment your ski or snowboarding days, check out some of the special events offered by resorts affiliated with Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA):
- Arapahoe Basin’s 9th Annual Fire Hose Relay – February 27, 2015. Do you love a man in uniform? Here’s your chance to watch hunky firemen, dressed in their bunker jackets and fire helmets, participate in a unique slalom-style event. Firemen representing departments from across Colorado will team up to benefit the Burn Camps Program at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Teams of five firefighters race down a 15-gate slalom course while holding on to 50 feet of fire hose. We love a hunky man competing for charity. View the competition on the lower High Noon trail from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. We hear that the best viewing of the firemen, uh, charitable event are from the south end of the A-Frame from the Perch or A-Frame deck.
- Copper Mountain’s World of Adventure Presents Dos Equis Après – March 7 – 8, 2015
If you’d rather eat and drink with hunky snow sports enthusiasts than just view them, reward yourself at the World of Adventure Dos Equis Après Ski series featuring the Feast of the Brave culinary challenge. Guests who are up for the challenge and have the taste buds and the wit to pass the test should come thirsty for interesting eats, cold beer and live music. Of course, snowgrrl can’t guarantee the hunkiness of the participants, but it sounds like fun to us! CopperColorado.com for more info.
